# Update it and roll back

Publishing again makes a new version at the same address and keeps the old ones — versions never change once made. The **Versions** card on an artifact’s overview marks the live one: **Make live** on a newer version promotes it, **Roll back** on an older one returns to it, and **Download** hands you its files. A version can be published without going live (“v4 ready”) and shared at its own address for approval first.
