# Getting started

**Publish straight from your chat.** 23artifacts turns whatever your AI assistant builds — a page, a report, a little app — into a real website with a shareable link. Connect it once, then just ask.

## Connect your assistant (once)
Add 23artifacts to the app you already chat in. Pick yours:

### Claude

1. In Claude, open **Customize → Plugins**, choose **Add → Add marketplace** and enter `23made/23artifacts-plugin`.
2. Choose 23artifacts in the **Discover** list and **Add** it.
3. In the plugin's **Connectors** tab, choose **Connect**, then sign in and allow it — once.

Plugins come with Claude's paid plans. Or add the connector alone: **Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector**, name it 23artifacts, paste the URL below and **Connect**. The web, desktop and mobile apps share it. On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds the connector for the organization, under Organization settings → Connectors, and each member then connects.

### ChatGPT

1. Turn on **Developer mode** in **Settings → Security and login**.
2. Open [chatgpt.com/plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins), choose **+**, name it 23artifacts and paste the URL below as the MCP server's address.
3. Create it, then sign in and allow it. In a new chat, add 23artifacts from the tools menu.

Whether developer mode is offered depends on your plan and your workspace's policy.

### Claude Code

1. In your terminal, run `claude plugin marketplace add 23made/23artifacts-plugin`.
2. Then `claude plugin install 23artifacts@23artifacts`.
3. In a session, run `/mcp`, choose 23artifacts and **Authenticate**; sign in in the browser window it opens.

Or add the connector alone: `claude mcp add --transport http 23artifacts https://mcp.23artifacts.com/mcp`, then authenticate the same way.

### Codex

1. In your terminal, run `codex plugin marketplace add 23made/23artifacts-plugin`.
2. Then `codex plugin add 23artifacts@23artifacts`.
3. Run `codex mcp login 23artifacts` and sign in in the browser window it opens.

Or add the connector alone: `codex mcp add 23artifacts --url https://mcp.23artifacts.com/mcp`, then the same login. Keep one or the other — both use the name 23artifacts.

### Cursor

1. Add it as a custom MCP server from **Customize** in the sidebar, or in `~/.cursor/mcp.json` under `mcpServers` as `"23artifacts": { "url": "…" }` with the URL below.
2. In **Customize**, find 23artifacts and sign in when it asks.

### VS Code

1. Run **MCP: Add Server** from the Command Palette, choose **HTTP**, paste the URL below and name it 23artifacts.
2. When the server first starts, let VS Code sign in to 23artifacts and finish in the browser.

### Another assistant

1. Add the URL below as a remote MCP server (streamable HTTP).
2. Sign in and allow it when it asks — there is no key to paste.

A model running on your own computer works too, through an app that signs in to remote MCP servers — Codex with --oss, Goose, Open WebUI or VS Code — as long as the model can use tools.

Connector URL:

```
https://mcp.23artifacts.com/mcp
```

## Just ask it to publish
No code, no files to configure. Ask in plain language and you get a link back:

> “Publish this as a website and give me the link.”

> “Update my pricing page with these changes.”

> “Make it private so only people I invite can open it.”

Your assistant sends the files to 23artifacts and replies with the artifact's address, like `k3v9x2qa.23a.so`. Share it with anyone.

## Manage it here
Everything you publish shows up in your dashboard — open one to change who can see it, check its traffic, or roll back a change. You can do all of this by asking your assistant too; the dashboard is just the visual way.

## What you can do
- [Control who can see it](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/access) — Who can open an artifact, the role each person gets, and how to add people.
- [Share a private artifact](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/sharing) — A share link lets someone in without being on the list, and copies an embed.
- [Members, roles and teams](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/members) — Who can do what in a workspace, and how people join it.
- [Its address](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/addresses) — The one address every artifact keeps for good, and each version's own.
- [Your handle](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/handles) — The short name you and your workspaces are known by, and the rules it follows.
- [Control what a pasted link reveals](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/link-previews) — The card a chat app shows when someone pastes an artifact's address.
- [Update it and roll back](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/versions) — Every publish is a new version at the same address; make one live or roll back.
- [Publishing markdown](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/markdown) — Ask for a page — notes and READMEs become a page people read and comment on.
- [Decks](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/decks) — Slides from an ask, edited in place, published as versions and presented anywhere.
- [Themes](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/themes) — Your look written down, so what gets made in your workspace looks like yours.
- [Your library of material](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/library) — Screenshots, logos, video, sound and typefaces for artifacts to be built with.
- [Ask for comments](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/comments) — Comments and recordings on the page itself, and where new ones reach you.
- [Activity: who opened it, and what changed](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/analytics) — The log of who opened what and every change anyone made, for each artifact and the workspace.
- [Find anything](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/search) — Find artifacts by what they say, and narrow the list with terms and filters.
- [Organize your artifacts](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/tags) — Tags group related artifacts, and every tag has a page of its own.
- [The corner crate](https://23artifacts.com/docs/using/crate) — The small crate on every live artifact, and the five things it opens.
