# Its address

Every artifact gets one address the moment it exists, like `k3v9x2qa.23a.so`, and it never changes — renaming the artifact, your workspace or your handle moves nothing, and every link anyone ever wrote to it keeps arriving. Each version also has its own pinned address, `k3v9x2qa--v3.23a.so`, which always shows that version.
